Just a short stroll from the River Clyde, this hotel blends the modern and traditional in an extremely appealing way. It’s partly housed in a renovated Rice Mill, but offers a host of up-to-date facilities, including a large indoor swimming pool. Its location makes it equally handy for the city centre and the SECC, both of which are within walking distance.
The Menzies Glasgow Hotel is a modern stylish property, situated on the site of a renovated Rice Mill, which dates back to 1854. The mill has been retained and houses 12 luxury apartments, while the other 129 guestrooms are in the modern part of the property. All of them have been designed and decorated in a modern and pleasing manner. They each feature 2 chairs and small table as well as small work desk. For extra comfort the rooms have sound proofing to 53 decibels and blackout curtains. Due to the location near to government buildings a large numbers of rooms have windows which do not open although do let in a lot of light. There are still some smoking rooms in the hotel which would be available on a request basis. There are also 6 accessible rooms for disabled guests in total, these are located adjacent to the lifts on each floor.
The Brasserie, serving a lovely range of traditional Scottish cuisine, is stylish, welcoming and often busy with local residents. The hotel also has a friendly bar just off the lobby.
Guests may make use of the large indoor swimming pool with attached jacuzzi or enjoy some pampering in the spa area.
Overall and excellent standard of hotel with friendly service. Ideal for business and leisure travellers alike.
